What is Memory Match?

Memory Match is a card-pair matching game (concentration) that runs entirely in your browser. You can switch between an Auto mode that uses emoji as card faces and a Photo mode that slices one of your own photos into cards. The number of pairs is adjustable from 4 to 18, so the board resizes to match your mood. With time limits of none, 1, 3, or 5 minutes, it works for a quick distraction or a serious focus workout.

How to play

  1. Choose either Auto mode (emoji) or Photo mode.
  2. If you pick Photo mode, upload one photo to turn into cards. It is sliced automatically into the right number of pieces.
  3. Use the slider to set the number of pairs from 4 to 18. More pairs means a harder game.
  4. Pick a time limit: none, 1, 3, or 5 minutes.
  5. After starting, all cards are dealt face down. Tap one card to flip it face up.
  6. Tap a second card. If the two faces match, the pair stays; otherwise both flip back over.
  7. Remember each card's position and clear every pair in as few moves as possible.
  8. Once all pairs are matched, you win. Check your moves and time, then change the pair count or timer and try again.

Great for

  • Killing spare time

Waiting for a train or bus? Set a low pair count and play a quick round. Even a short game gives a sense of accomplishment.

  • Daily brain training

Memorizing positions and recalling them is great short-term memory practice. Raise the pair count to increase the challenge.

  • Playing with kids

Use Photo mode with pictures of family or pets to make an original matching game your children will love.

  • Waiting at clinics or cafes

During a few minutes in a queue, play with no time limit so you can pass the time without any pressure.

  • Breaks between work or study

Use the 1-minute mode to take a short break, reset your focus, and get right back to your tasks.

  • Memory challenges

Take on 18 pairs with a tight time limit and aim to beat your own fewest-moves and fastest-time records.

Privacy

Memory Match runs entirely in your browser. Neither the photos you choose nor your game progress is sent anywhere, and it makes no external network requests at all. In-progress state is saved only in your device's localStorage, so you can pick up where you left off even after reloading the page.
